Village of Millerton, NY to Kick off the Holidays in a BIG way on Black Friday!
MILLERTON, NY—This Black Friday forget about the Mall. Instead, mark your calendars and come to the village of Millerton to kick off the holidays in style.
The village-wide festivities and lights are sponsored by Salisbury Bank, The Moviehouse, Millerton Fire Department, the Millerton Business Group and Townscape.
This full day of fun will begin at 9:30 a.m. when doors open for a free community screening at 10:00 a.m. of HOME ALONE at The Moviehouse, located at 48 Main Street. Bring the whole family and enjoy giveaways, prizes & treats.
After the movie, starting at noon, visitors can take free horse and carriage rides through the village.
The Millerton Fire Company’s spectacular, annual, Parade of Lights will begin lining up at 4:30 p.m. at Arnoff Moving & Storage on Elm Avenue.The Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place at 5:00 p.m., signalling the start of the parade which will set off at 5:30 p.m. Santa will lead the way up Main Street and Maple Avenue to Highland Street, then back down to Dutchess Avenue to the fire house at 24 Century Boulevard for a party and a delicious spread, donated by the local restaurants and members of the Fire Department.
Everyone is invited back to the fire house! Children can meet Santa who will hand out gifts to all who come to visit with him, helped of course by Mrs. Claus and two of his mischievous elves!
