In the sixth grade my English teacher, Ms. Bindrim, tasked the class with writing “how to” essays. Caring enough about me to know the desires of my heart, or, perhaps by dumb luck, she assigned me the hot-fudge sundae. While never shy about telling others what to do, I approached the topic with due reverence. A sundae is indeed nuanced. No two sundaes are alike, or sundae enjoyers, for that matter. This considered, I concluded there was probably no wrong way to make a sundae.
