Bjorn Quenemoen was destined to become known for popcorn.
He grew up in the middle of what his business partner, Jamie O’Shea, referred to as “an Atlantic Ocean–sized region of corn,” his family made popcorn for dinner once a week and his popcorn parties at Bard College attracted a cult following. “Also, my name rhymes with it,” he noted dryly.
Quenemoen and O’Shea, friends from their days together at Bard, started selling Bjorn Qorn in 2013; the popcorn is now available throughout the United States as well as online in the USA and Canada. The appeal, besides the name, lies in a perfect combination of the two men’s talents: O’Shea’s passion for backyard engineering projects and Quenemoen’s passion for popcorn.
