There are two things people remember the most about weddings: the food and the experience. For many, food is an experience in and of itself, and if you’ve lived in the Hudson Valley long enough, you’ll know that there are enough food experiences for every taste.
Couples today want their wedding to be unique, and one way couples can really make their wedding special for their guests, especially out-of-town guests, is by showcasing local chefs, farmers and the abundant local produce found in the area.
With so many weddings taking place outside traditional catering halls, couples need to find caterers and food options for their wedding, as opposed to having it provided for them the way catering halls would. There are good and bad aspects to this, but one of the best things is that couples have a ton of choices when it comes to catering and the type of food they are looking for. We wanted insights on how couples can navigate the never-ending catering options available to them—specifically, finding true farm-to-table cuisine—and so we went local for the answers. We spoke to Austin Jones of Blooming Hill Farm in Monroe and Linda Laestadius from Grounded in Kingston to break down what couples need to know about farm-to-table cuisine.
